on a personal note :

Firstly, good game guys, it was really excellent to see every one turn up for the match. May the attendance be the same for EVERY training as well.
We have been training hard & lets make this team right this time around.

Coach has asked us to find opponents with a higher caliber so that we can improve. To some extent I do agree with him. We have all agreed that Impulse EFC will be a professional Team. However if we play against hafiz team, david’s team etc we will be deemed as a leisure team not a professional team.

However on the other hand, I do understand that its been a long while, & it was really fun playing in a match again. So guys, lets all train really damn hard, so that we can compete with teams maybe in the JC or even teams like ELIAS PARK etc.

next, it seemed like we were a little complacent in the 2nd half.
we need to to be focused for the full 90min, regardless how big or small the match is.

ONE TEAM guys, Score as 1, Defend as 1, win as 1 !

Finally, lets all welcome out newest member Vikesh (THE BEAST) Mitter ! he is certainly an awesome addition to the team.

15th August 2009 - Friendly against Evolution United FC !

Impulse EFC returned to Qiaonan Primary yesterday for a friendly against Evolution United FC.
It was their 1st match under their new coach & they certainly did not let down.
Score line at 80+ minutes was 3 – 2, with Impulse EFC in the lead. However the match was rudely interrupted & the game had to be stopped.

Nevertheless, the reviews of the match are as follows.
1st half line up – Impulse EFC :

Siva (GK)
Navin (CB)
Ben Lim Wen Xiong (LB)
Jon Queck (RB) ‘’ 35 min ( Tan Ming Sheng )
Haja (DMF)
Farhan (CMF)
Zuhairi (CMF) ‘’ 25 min ( Vicky )
Louis Loh (RW)
Multazam Shah (LW) ‘’ 40 min ( Haris )
Koh kah Beng (SS)
Jason Heng (CF)

Impulse EFC started of the game on a positive note, going in to the break with a 2 – 0 lead, even though many players were starting of in unfamiliar positions. Jon Queck filling in for Regular Right back Hidir (who was denied a debut return back on to the pitch due to the interruption) & Ben Lim Wen Xiong replacing injured left back Alvin Tong; Carried out their defensive duties marvelously.
Navin Mitter, who seems to be Impulse EFC’s permanent last man, did well commanding his defense line, Making the 1st half very easy for Keeper Siva Ruuben.

1st goal was from Central Mid Fielder Farhan. A cheeky chip with his side foot over the keeper & into the net.
He gave Impulse EFC the momentum they needed, as they were playing their 1st match after a long time.
2nd Goal came courtesy of a defensive error on Evolution FC’s part. A lovely clearance by Impulse EFC’s left back Ben Lim Wen Xiong, was headed by Evolution United FC’s Defender, whose intentions were to head it back to their keeper. But their Keeper was way off his line, & it resulted into an own goal.

Impulse EFC pressed on for another goal, with Zuhairi & substitute Haris forcing great saves from the Keeper. Although Zuhairi suffered an ankle injury after his only shot of the game. He was substituted with Vicky. Louis Loh was always a threat on the right, his speed & pace, caused much problems for Evolution United’s insecure Defense. Multazam shah, Haja, Koh Kah Beng & Jason Heng did satisfactory but however, none of them could conjure up another goal.

Evolution United FC had a glorious chance to get back in to the game, but their 1 on 1 effort was shot too wide by. Evolution United FC attack was lead by ex Impulse EFC Player Hafiz Ahmad. However their attempts were routine saves for Impulse EFC’s Keeper.
H T – Impulse EFC 2 – 0 Evolution United FC

2nd half line up – Impulse EFC :

Siva (GK)
Navin (CB)
Vikesh (RB)
Farhan (LB)
Tan Ming Sheng (DMF)
Vicky (CMF)
Koh Kah Beng (CMF)
Louis Loh (RW)
Haris (LW)
Daryl Lim An Wei (SS)
Jason Heng (CF)

Within the starting minutes of the 2nd half, Evolution Untied FC managed to get back in the game, from a quick taken corner, which was headed past Impulse EFC’s Keeper who was left flat footed.
Navin Mitter was furious that the players were gradually walking back instead of realizing the urgency & hurrying back.
Jason Heng later gave Impulse EFC back the 2 goal lead, with great control of the ball, and a unstoppable shot past the keeper. 3 – 1.
Impulse EFC continued to add pressure on Evoulution United FC. Louis Loh missed a glorious chance set up by substitute Daryl Lim An Wei. As well did Tan Ming sheng, who was skillfully set up by Jason Heng.
However, Evolution United again was able to elude Impulse EFC’s defense & score a 2nd goal.

Score at 80 + minute would stay as 3 – 2 with Impulse EFC with the lead.

Training at Temasek Poly

Impulse EFC had its 1st training session on Wednesday Night and players are assured to expect this to be a regular fixation. It was nice to finally have a goalpost !

Training started out with a few players, getting “Extra physical” from coach
and then the fun began!

40 minutes of pure conditioning, which coach announced to the team was only 30-35% of what’s to come. Hope everyone is as excited as I am.
Coach was pleased to see that players were able to endure the conditioning & without a rest we started the training where it was Defenders vs Attackers.

Defence (6):
Siva (GK)
Navin (CB)
Alvin (LB)
Jon Queck (RB)
Ming Sheng (DMF)
Wen Xiong (DMF)

Attackers (8):
Haja (CMF)
Vicky (CMF)
Daryl Lim (AMF)
Haris (AMR)
Louis Loh (RW)
Multazam (AML)
Zuhairi (LW)

Kah Beng (CF)

Areas to improve on :
Keeper - Goal kick. Handling of High Balls. & commanding of defense.
Defense – Improvement in Physical & Stamina. Building up play to the midfield

however, defense was satisfactory last night, not conceding a goal.
Right Back Jonathan Queck playing in an unfamiliar position pushed himself to the limit. Kudos to him. Regular Right back Hidir will be missing training for awhile due to personal reasons. Impulse EFC hopes that he will return for training soon !

Attack - Build up play from Haja & Vicky was adequate
opportunities created on both Left & right was plenty. Team work on the Right among Daryl Lim, Haris & Louis Loh was strong as well as on the left Zuhairi & multazam causing problems for defenders & The Keeper.

However, the finishing of Center Forward Koh Kah Beng was severely disappointing.

Keep up the training guys!

Attendance, Commitment, Discipline & Train Hard..

Transfer Requests

It has come to our attention that 3 Players, have articulated interest in joining Impulse EFC .

1st player : Mohd Hazim [Age 18]

Preferred Position(s) : Full Back, Centre Mid-Field/ Defensive Mid-Field

Current/Previous Club(s) : Anglo Chinese JC School Team

Player has requested a trial with us on Saturday.
This player has impressive credentials, And would certainly strengthen the squad’s Defence as First choice Centre Back - Bernard Teo – is out due to a long term injury.
Left Winger Multazam Shah has urged support from Impulse EFC to sign for this noteworthy Defender.

2nd Player : Iqbal [Age 17]

Preferred Position(s) : Attacking Mid – Field, Centre Mid – Field, Left Winger

Current/Previous Club(s) : Loyang FC, Sovereign FC, NP Futsal

Player is ready to commit to a long term deal if Impulse gives the green Light.
Impulse EFC captain has acknowledged & has given a good recommendation for this very skill-full
All rounded player. Impulse EFC Captain Daryl Lim An Wei has hinted that he would be fond of reuniting with his ex team mate from Loyang FC.
Iqbal has the potential to improve the squad and Impulse EFC has already seen the capability of this player when he was on loan with Impulse EFC – playing for us when we won 7 – 0 against arch Rivals, Sovereign FC.

3rd Player : Devan Anbalagan [Age 18]

Preferred Position(s) : Centre Back, Defensive Mid – Field

Current/Previous Club(s) : Loyang FC, Sovereign FC

Player has hinted interest in joining Impulse EFC however, commitment may be an issue as this player is doing his O’levels this year. He will train full heartedly until his O’Levels which are in October. This player would definitely improve our defence as Impulse Players have experienced that it is difficult to pass this player. And also this player’s long shot attempts have rattled the Goal Posts on many occasions, giving many Goalkeepers a 2nd thought when coming up against this goliath.

The Decisions whether or not to sign these players into the Team will be decided on Wednesday’s Training session. Impulse EFC Team Coach, has requested for 4 new players. Goalkeeper Ben Lim Wen Xiong has announced that he would return for training, solving our 2nd Goalkeeper Issues.

These are 3 very good & experienced candidates for the team.

Good News !

To my fellow Survivors of IMPULSE EFC.
I come forth bearing Awsome News !

1stly - GOT THE BALLS BACK ! Wooooooooooooooooooooh Hoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

It seems that Coach Burn was overseas where he fractured his leg playing soccer.
Although I did not get a chance to meet him, he replied my SMS asking me to send his regards to All you GUYZ !.

I would like all of you to come for the next soccer gathering so that we could disccuss what is next for the team.

In the meantime, Daryl & I will keep the balls.

Honestly i am very optimistic that we will get back to training, get back in form & start winning alot of matches.

This is why I humbly ask for your Dedication & Devotion to the Team.
I am a little disappointed that alot of opportunites for us to shine have slipped away, & maybe now, quote Obama, "Its time for a change."

I recieved an email saying,

"Dear Ruben, I was wondering if you had a soccer team to represent Tampines Changkat and also was wondering if the players were all from Tampines Changkat. In addition, I wanted to know if you would be interested to join Tampines Changkat Community Sports Commintee(CSC). You can always try to attend the meeting as an observer, no obligation and then you can decide whether you want to join as a permanent grassroot leader. Just a suggestion, since you seem to be interested in sports and being in this committee will create more exposure and will allow you to join in more tournament. Thank you. Feel free to contact me if you have any enquiries. "

The person who sent me this is the one who helped to locate Burn.

And also there are alot of soccer leauges to join organised by ESPZEN. I can foward you guyz emails if you want.

So guyz.... What say You?

Are we gonna Bring IMPUSLE EFC back to life better than before?
